Project Description
Client: ADCO Constructions
Location: Hocking, WA
Completed: August 2016
Cost: $3,000,000
Hodge Collard Preston were engaged by Adco Constructions Pty Ltd in early 2015, to provide architectural services as part of a Design and Construct package for a new child care centre in Wyatt Grove.
The site forms part of an existing local shopping centre site precinct, together with the shopping centre, other commercial and residential uses.
The original design for the centre was completed by a separate architectural practice.
HCP were engaged to review this design for:
- Conformance with child care regulations
- Suitability for a different child care operator’s brief requirements
- Compliance with local authority and the shopping centre precinct planning criteria
HCP then prepared drawings for Development Approval and Contract Documentation in conjunction with a team of consultants.
Our role during the construction phase of the project was limited to providing off-site support for the Design and Construct Contractor Adco Constructions. This involved reviewing constructions details, the assessment of shop drawings, selection of finishes and updating documents to suit tenant requirements. We also provided a specific role to identify and record construction defects prior to completion of the project.
The project commenced on site in July 2015 and was successfully completed and handed over to the child care operator in April 2016.
